Project 500 aims to prioritize sustainability, accessibility, and comfort for residents.
KEY REASON
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Beyond individual benefits, Project 500 is designed to foster community development. By providing affordable housing, the initiative helps to create stable and vibrant communities, contributing to social cohesion.
KEY REASON
COST EFFICIENT
The economies of scale achieved through this program allow for a reduction in overall costs. By standardizing construction practices and utilizing advanced technologies, the program can offer affordable housing solutions that are financially viable for both the government and prospective homeowners.
KEY REASON
RAPID CONSTRUCTION
One of the standout aspects of Project 500 is its ability to expedite the construction process through mechanization. This means that homes can be built faster without compromising on quality, addressing the urgent demand for housing in a timely manner and lowering labour costs.
KEY REASON
CLIMATE SMART FEATURES
In recognition of the growing need for sustainability, Project 500 incorporates climate-smart features into its housing designs. These features not only reduce the environmental impact of construction but also ensure that homes are energy-efficient and resilient to climate change and provide long-term savings and benefits to residents.

WHY THIS INITIATIVE?

In Grenada, the demand for affordable, quality housing is ever-increasing. Many Grenadians face the challenge of high construction costs and limited access to modern, climate-smart homes.  This forward-thinking initiative addresses the challenges of securing available land, building cost-effectively, improving Grenada’s housing stock, and enhancing resilience. We tackle this through innovative and sustainable solutions. By reducing costs, accelerating construction, and incorporating climate-smart features, this program ensures that more people can enjoy the security and stability of homeownership.
